Action Summary of City Council Meeting
The following is a summary of key action items taken by the Mayor and Council at the most recent City Council meeting. The meeting was held at City Hall, located at 25 East Alabama Street, Tallapoosa.

City Council Regular Meeting — September 14, 2026
The Mayor and Council took the following actions:
- Approved financials, minutes, and checks over $300.
- Approved tabling the rezoning request for Parcel 0034B-0005 submitted by Jimmy Randall Lewis.
- Approved authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to negotiate a resolution regarding property lines between the City of Tallapoosa and Larry Goff.
- Approved tabling the Vacant Property Ordinance amendment and delaying enforcement until January 1, 2027.
- Approved a bad-debt adjustment.
- Approved tabling the proposed change to the invoice amount requiring approval.
- Approved installation of a new three-way stop sign at Cedartown Avenue and Washington Street.
- Approved the appointments of Jennifer King and Susan Clayton to the Tallapoosa Library Board.
- Approved authorizing the City Manager to request a survey of the property off Golf Course Road and F.F. Greene Drive, formerly known as the old Recreation property.
- Approved authorizing the City Manager to research approximately five acres on Golf Course Road for possible purchase.
