The following is a summary of key action items taken by the Mayor and Council at the last City Council meeting. The meeting was held at City Hall at 25 East Alabama Street, Tallapoosa.

City Council “Regular” Meeting – August 10, 2026
- Approved financials, minutes, and checks over $300
- Approved the City of Tallapoosa FY2027 budget
- Approved the appointment of Kent Bagwell to the Tallapoosa Housing Authority Board
- Approved Ordinance #1323 – Amendment of Zoning Ordinance
- Approved Ordinance #1324 – Vacant Property Ordinance
- Approved a 5% pay raise for City employees in 2026 and another 5% pay raise after the first of the year in 2027
- Approved the Tallapoosa Recreation Department’s sale of surplus football helmets and shoulder pad equipment
- Approved the Mayor and City Council entering into executive session
