Action Summary of City Council Meetings
The following is a summary of key action items taken by the Mayor and Council at the last City Council meeting, which was held at City Hall, 25 East Alabama Street, Tallapoosa.

City Council “Regular” Meeting – March 10, 2025
- Financials, minutes and checks over $300 approved.
- Approved the FY2024 audit review presented by Christian Hatch with Williamson & Company.
- Approved reappointments to the Tallapoosa Housing Authority: David Coy and Billy Ray Pike.
- Approved reappointments to the Tallapoosa Downtown Development Authority: Jacob Mouchet, Joyce Davis and Lawyana McElroy.
- Approved the agreement between Honda and the City of Tallapoosa that stated the City of Tallapoosa would credit Honda’s property tax account to rectify the overpayments made by Honda to the City of Tallapoosa.
- Approved a plat for parcel 0049-0067 on Golf Course Road and owned by David Coy to be subdivided into multiple plats. This parcel had been rezoned last year to M-2 heavy manufacturing.
- Approved an increase on golf fees for non-members. Monday – Friday will have a $7 increase and a $12 increase for Saturday and Sunday on 9 holes, 18 holes and green fees.
- Approved staff to register the mayor, council and staff to attend the 2025 GMA Convention.
- Approved new fencing in the new section of the Hollywood Cemetery near Bridges Apartments where trees had been cut down. The fence replacement is not to exceed $8,500.
- Approved reimbursement to Councilmember Jonathan James to attend the Young Gamechangers program organized by the Georgia Municipal Association.
The next regularly scheduled meeting for the Mayor and Council is Monday,
April 14, 2025, at 6:00 pm at City Hall at 25 E. Alabama St.
