Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. §21-2-2(3), a special election shall be held in Tallapoosa to fill the vacancy in the office of City Council Post #3, caused by the resignation of Jacqueline Roberts to allow her to qualify for the Position of Mayor.
The special election will be held on November 2, 2021.
Qualifying for this position will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 and continue through Friday, September 10, 2021 between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM each day at Tallapoosa City Hall.
The qualifying fee for this position is $108.00.
NO PERSON SHALL BE QUALIFIED OR ELIGIBLE TO SEEK
ELECTION AS A COUNCIL MEMBER UNLESS HE OR SHE IS AT
LEAST TWENTY-ONE (21) YEARS OF AGE, SHALL HAVE RESIDED
IN THE CITY CONTINUOUSLY FOR ONE (1) YEAR IMMEDIATELY
PRECEDING THE ELECTION, AND SHALL BE REGISTERED AND
QUALIFIED TO VOTE IN THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS FOR OFFICES
IN THE CITY OF TALLAPOOSA.
The last day to register to vote for this election is Monday, October 4, 2021.
Voting on Election Day will be conducted at Tallapoosa City Hall.
Polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7 PM.
