Action Summary of City Council Meetings
The following is a summary of key action items taken by the Mayor and Council at the last City Council meeting. The meeting was held at City Hall at 25 East Alabama Street, Tallapoosa.
City Council “Regular” Meeting – January 9, 2023
- Minutes, financials, and checks over $300 approved.
- Mayor Jones read the notice of the special election scheduled for March 21, 2023, to fill the vacancy in the office of City Council post #2. Qualifying for this position will begin on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and continue through Thursday, January 25, 2023.
- Zoning request was approved for tax map 53, parcel number #36 changing from R-300 Single Family Residential to C-1, Commercial Interstate.
- New probation service contract for the police department was approved.
The next scheduled meeting for Mayor and Council is Monday,
February 13, at 6:00 pm at City Hall at 25 E. Alabama St.
